A difficult situation leaves one feeling trapped, confused, and powerless. There may also be fear and reluctance to leave this situation because of the nominal security that it provides.

New beginnings are made in the realm of career and work. The card can indicate a return to school or an opportunity to learn a new trade. The money might not be good at first, but the move is gratifying and brings contentment.

The card reversed points to the difficulty in making any long-term gains in employment or career development. There might be problems keeping a job due to intolerance of working conditions or livelihood earned through criminal activity.
